Resumen

This is a section of the 2008 annual report on health financing of the Government of Cambodia, focused community based health insurance schemes (CBHI). A number of community-based health insurance schemes have been introducedin various parts of the country by a range of international and local NGOs. CBHIis based on the principle of risk pooling and pre-payment for health care. CBHI isnon-profit, voluntary insurance mechanism based on the sale of low-costinsurance premiums that provide the purchaser and their family with coverage forhealth charges for a stated list of medical benefits delivered at contracted publichealth facilities.
