Resumen

This paper studies the impact of the programme "Plan jefes y jefas" on the labor market and on the poverty rates. The aim of the programme was to provide direct income support to those families with dependents and whose head has become unemployed during the 2002 economic crisis. The results indicate that the unemployment rate has diminished and so has the extreme-poverty rate.
