Resumen

This report details several recent socio-economic trends in Brazil.  It focuses on growth, employment and government actions to stimulate development.  It also details Brazil’s most recent attempts to promote social protection by increasing the scope of the Bolsa Familia Program which provides cash transfers to poor families, and by creating the program Minha Casa, Minha Vida which provides housing to vulnerable groups.
