Résumé

Provides an overview of the necessity to reform the Indonesian social protection system, mentioning inter alia Law No. 40/2004 on the National Social Security System, which provides the legal basis for the objective of social protection coverage for all.

The report also analyses the linkages between social protection and a social market economy. Whithin this context, collaboration between the Governement of Indonesia and Germany (through the GTZ) is briefly described.
