Summary

This study includes in Chapter 1, a rationale for a health financing study, objectives, mothodology and scope, structure and outline of the review.

Chapter 2 presents the socioeconomic and health system context. Chapter 3 presents the Indonesia's health financing system (functions, programs, providers and trends). Chapter 4 deals with the assessment of the financing performance, through issues such as health outcomes, spending, efficiency, quality of health services, and the policy reform baseline, among others.

Chapter 5 addresses key policy issues, options and costs. Chapter 6 focuses on finding resources for health among policy options. Chapter 7 presents the conclusions and way forward.
