The brochure explains the purpose of R204 - Transition from the Informal to the Formal Economy Recommendation, 2015 (No. 204) of the ILO and addresses how the extension of social protection coverage can be achieved by formalizing informal workers, whether they operate in the formal or informal economy, in the public or private sector, and what impacts social protection can have on the lives of these workers and their families.
