Resumen

This study aimed to increase knowledge regarding the maternity care needs of women working in the informal economy and analyse how these needs can be addressed by a community-based health insurance scheme. The study consists of two sub-studies. Study A assesses the needs and services among women working in the informal economy, and also gives a brief introduction to the informal economy in India. Study B provides a review of maternity benefits delivered by VimoSEWA. The study includes a description of packages offered under VimoSEWA, and a questionnaire on maternity protection.
