Summary

In line with the recommendations of the 89th ILC, the Director General of the ILO requested that the possibility of supporting the development of national social protection systems through international financing be explored. The ILO's International Financial and Actuarial Service (ILO FACTS) developed an innovative concept for a GLOBAL SOCIAL TRUST network (or "TRUST") which connects the global, national and community levels of financing for social security. The report lays down the main findings of the feasibility study.
