Description
This Joint Programme (JP) aims at promoting social transformation by integrating social protection policies and enhancing the interoperability of digital systems backing up programmes and policies. It revises policies with stakeholders and builds institutional capacity. The project also extends the social protection coverage to vulnerable groups, and improves financial efficiency by also increasing social returns on investment. To this end, policy changes are required and enhanced social dialogue and consensus with employers, workers and other stakeholders needs to be promoted. Within its economic transformation pillar, the JP enhances educational responsiveness to private sector needs through the active engagement of sectoral skills councils and the upgrade of apprenticeship programs. The project aims at revising practices and enhancing the design of such programs. Vocational training finance benefits from innovative modalities like skills development funds and assess skills needs in climate-affected regions, developing programs for vulnerable populations. Therefore, the JP also builds capacity for just transitions, strengthening policymakers and MSMEs, and pilots innovative financing schemes such as social impact investments. The JP is designed to support acceleration of the achievement of SDGs 1, 4, 8 and aims to directly benefit 1,400 people, and indirectly benefit 58 million people in Indonesia, notably those currently benefitting from the PKH (family hope) and the Sembako (food voucher) programmes. The JP also leverages the $5 billion government financing for implementing the Global Accelerator Roadmap on Social Protection and Jobs.SDG
