In this issue:

  • Cape Verde: New procedures concerning protection against sickness to improve coverage and control of the benefits, thus responding to the existing social dynamics that demanded for more effective interventions on this branch.
  • Mozambique: MMAS launches campaign against beggary and street children phenomenon to (i) raise awareness against giving alms, encouraging donations to be given to specialized institutions, (ii) raise awareness among parents and families to protect their children and other vulnerable groups in their family and neighbourhood, (iii) foster solidarity at community level so everyone contributes within their possibilities to help those in need.
  • Guinea-Bissau: INPS carried out campaign to extend social security that took place in the capital, Bissau, from July to September, with the goal of enrolling employers and workers operating in different economic sectors but mainly in hotels and restaurants.
