At the time of publishing the November issue of the Social Protection OUTLOOK the main international issues on social protection are:

- Oxfam launches its major flagship report "Even it Up. Time to end extreme inequality". The report presents evidence that the gap between rich and poor is growing ever wider and is undermining poverty eradication. It delves into the causes of the inequality crisis and looks at the concrete solutions that can overcome it.
- The UNU-WIDER Conference on "Inequality - measurement, trends, impacts, and policies", the publication of the revised version of the UNU-WIDER, ‘World Income Inequality Database (WIID3.0A)’, and the joint UNU-WIDER, ILO and UNCTAD policy seminar on inequality.
